Mission Statement

The Department of Massachusetts Marine Corps League, is a band of brothers consisting of Marines and FMF Corpsmen as regular members and other persons interested in the traditions and ideals of the Marine Corps and Marine Corps League as associate members. The Massachusetts Department is organized into a Department staff and 28 Detachments located throughout the state. Joined together they are bonded in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of our beloved United States Marine Corps. The Massachusetts Department and its Detachments voluntarily aid and render assistance to all Marines, Veteran Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and to their widows and orphans. In addition, the Department takes pride in supporting causes such as the injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and The Wounded Warriors Fund and other worthy causes with monetary contributions. In doing so, the entire Department of Massachusetts perpetuates the history of the United States Marine Corps through fitting acts by celebrating and observing the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen and all our associated members.

Welcome to the Department of Massachusetts Website. If you are on active duty, reserve, retired or an honorably discharged Marine, FMF Corpsman or Navy Chaplain, I invite you to join us. Our primary goal is to support Marines, past and present, and to uphold the honor and traditions of our beloved Corps. Annually, we donate to many organizations including the Holyoke Soldiers Home and the many Veteran’s Hospitals we have in Massachusetts. We have 28 detachments located throughout the Commonwealth, and our department meetings are held at various detachments in the months of September, November, January and April. Our Department convention is held in June every year. We would be delighted to have you become a member. By becoming a member, you will be joining the thousands of Marines who make up our ranks. At the Department of Massachusetts Marine Corps League, we bring years worth of experience in bringing together Marines and assistance to Marine families. To put it quite simply, “We are here to honor, respect and assist all past, present and future Marines in the country we love and served.” Please consider becoming a member of the Marine Corps League and proudly wear the Eagle, Globe and Anchor once again.

If you cannot join at this time, perhaps you could make a donation. Any and all donations can be made to our Department Paymaster, James Laskey, 60 Birch Rd, Cumberland RI 02864

Semper Fidelis,

James Sottile
